Little Horn Theatre
Chad Wolfe is a former Canadian Open Stepdance champion and award-winning fiddler who has taught & performed across Canada and abroad. In 1996, Chad first opened, Chad’s School of Fiddle & Stepdance, in North Bay, Ontario. Since then, his students have won national titles and have entertained alongside some of today’s headlining Celtic acts. Students will sing and move to a variety of songs hearing the fiddle, learning about tempo, pitch, rhythm and beat and many more elements of music. Let’s get singing!

Jennifer Nicol is a talented water colour visual artist. The beauty, splendour and unique water colours are captured in student created canvases, cards, calendars and beautiful murals.

Tammy McRae has a very diverse and extensive background in music. She has worked with various school boards for over 20 years, positively promoting the benefits of active participation in music to students from JK to high school students. She offers engaging, movement sing along workshops for students and teachers in a fun, educational atmosphere!

Rhythm; recognize sound sources and use in performing and creating music; communicating responses to music, patterns of music through pitch, rhythm, movement and melody.
We will be bringing Culture Shock back to our school again this year – a really popular dance program at our school – lunch-time classes will begin in November, this program is open to all students grades 3-6 and will be subsidized by the school. The program again will culminate with a full-day workshop and performance in the spring.
Big Kid Theatre will also be returning this year to continue their dramatic presentations on issues like respect, dignity and cyberbullying
Workshop #1: Kindergarten:
Exploring Coloured Pencils – Kindergarten Program
Level: Junior and Senior Program
Audience: JK, SK
Duration: 45 minutes
Cost: $60.00 (+ tax)
Maximum students: 35 students
Description of the Workshop
Exploring Colour Pencil
The Kindergarten Program gives students the opportunity to explore colour pencil art.
The workshop will begin with an introduction by the artist who will share and discuss
drawing tools, concepts and original works of art. The artist will discuss basic technical
drawing skills and the application of pencil crayon.
The artist will then lead the students through a drawing exercise using lines & shapes to create a drawing on paper. The students will then be encouraged to use pencil crayons to render their technical drawing.
To conclude the workshop, students will gather together as a group to share and discuss their pencil crayon drawing.
A thorough clean-up will follow.
Supplies Needed for Each Student:
-A variety of Coloured Pencil Crayons
– A sharpener (can be used by the teacher for many students)
-8 ½” x 11” white bond paper
Workshop #2: Primary And Junior Elementary
Students:
Learning To Draw in Colour Pencil
Level: Beginner Program
Audience: Grades 1 – 6
Duration: 1.5 hours
Cost: $150.00 (+ tax)

This workshop is a great introductory for students at the elementary level. The workshop will

using lines & shapes to create a drawing on paper. The students will then be
encouraged to use pencil crayons to render their technical drawing.
To conclude the workshop, students will gather together as a group to share and
discuss their pencil crayon drawing.
A thorough clean-up will follow.
Note: The drawing exercise can be tailored to whatever is being taught in the classroom.
For example: if students are covering an anatomy unit, the technical drawing can
encompass an organ or body part. This must be discussed with the artist beforehand.
